Vijay Nagappan

Vijay first

joined MHS Capital in 2010 to work with entrepreneurs on a mission to create new markets or disruption in existing markets.

 

He joined his first startup in 2002, working for entertainment gaming company Wired Gamez.

Vijay worked closely with the founders on business development initiatives, public outreach, customer sourcing, marketing and pricing optimization. After Wired Gamez, he built a web-based CRM and job management system for a recruiting services company. Then, he was a consultant for AND1, helping them build a data-driven forecasting model that would identify ideal locations to open up retail stores across the United States. Next, Vijay built data scraping/cleaning algorithms to monitor illegal downloading activity as part of a market research project on how illegal downloading was impacting the TV industry.

 

In 2007, Vijay joined Evercore Partners to learn as much as he possibly could about building great software/internet businesses from a team whose experience included leading the corporate development and strategy teams at Microsoft, Inktomi and Walmart.com. While at Evercore, Vijay worked side by side with the founders and operators of VC-backed and public technology companies, advising them on corporate strategy, fundraising, mergers, and acquisitions.

 

Vijay is a native of Southern California, and now lives in San Francisco.
